We used obscenity regulations to prosecute child porn. In 1978, Congress enacted a legislation that prohibited the manufacture of child porn without the need of evidence of obscenity, however the legislation was restricted to product produced for pecuniary gain. It was not until eventually after 1982, when the Supreme Courtroom held that child porn
